"For Frogs & Trees" out May 19
I’m excited announce that my new four-song EP, “For Frogs and Trees,” will be out on May 19!
May 19 is Endangered Species Day and unfortunately, frogs and trees have a lot of wisdom to share with us on that subject. This is an album about living and dying and the care we show as we go about doing both. I’m not sure the last song of the Rabbs' fringe-limbed treefrog or a song about the life cycle of trees will solve any problems, but I do believe that art like this helps us feel our feelings. And hopefully, that helps us make wiser decision for ourselves, the next generation and all the beings on this planet.
For this project, I gave myself some creative parameters, I limited myself to vocal harmonies and one instrument per song, and my friend, Erin Christensen, plays cello on each track. One song was begging for drums, so Theo Spanos stepped in to give it a pulse. This isn’t an album for the clubs, but I hope it’s an album that helps us recognize the beauty and the value in the world around us, as we face an uncertain future. My fingers are crossed that it inspires creative and positive action and care for the world around us.
